!~EIR.Practical.5&6~!

Reflection on Wiki Experience

1. What is the significant working experience for you in a working group?

The significant working experience for me in working with groups is to improve my communication skills with my fellow team members. To also enhance my teamwork skills and to learn to listen and share among one anothers ideas and mistakes. Working in a groups enables me to brainstorm even more and stretch my level of thinking when contributing ideas. In groups, i am able to work together more efficiently and this will help me in the future in any event that i need to work with a team i will not be uneasy. I am also able to learn to voice out my ideas and share information with fellow members.

2. As an individual contributor, what have you gained from this experience?

I have gained to share my research findings with my fellow team members and seek opinions from them if the information i found is relevant or not. This will help me to know if the information is relevant and valuable to be used in the topic. I am also able to learn from other team members contributions and learn some facts which i had not been able to find or understand by myself.

3.What is the one most challenging experience you had?

The most challenging experience i had was to get in contact with my groups members, however, i managed to overcome it as some of my group mate managed to reply to my email and send over their contributions to the group work. Another challenge i faced was picking out relevant video clips from YouTube to provide exmaples and to help users to understand the topic discussed visually. Firstly, i need to understand the video before i can upload it and briefly explain what is the video aboutt and how it contributes to our topics on "What is cyber ethics in general?"

4. What advice would you give the next batch Wiki groups as they start a similar project?

I would advice them to start earlier. Firstly, to get each and every group members of the team to get their own research based on their individual task to search on. Then i suggest for them to meet up on a certain day to collaborate their ideas and brainstorm together for further ideas as well as editing each and everyone's part together. This will complete the group work faster with more information. I also advice the future groups to include in their project more visual aid such as videos or pictures and not just words as some might not able to understand just through reading the chunks of information. And also try to break down the information into different parts for easier reading.

5. Would you use Wiki for research in your own diplomas? Why ?

I would use Wiki for my own research in my own diploma only at certain times. I will also not collect information solely based on the Wiki information but i will cross reference it to some other search results. This is because since Wiki could be edited, at times some searched results might not be as accurate as it seems thus, this would affect my project if i were to only use Wiki. Therefore, i usually have a wider range of other research tools when searching for information. This way, i am able to understand better and get a better explaination for my research.

`*EIR.Tutorial3&4*`

~!Twitter Microblogging!~

My Twitter Homepage ((=

a. How has Twitter (micro-blogging) enhanced your learning of EIR ?
Compare this with your blogging experience using Blogspot.

The Twitter (micro-blogging) has helped me to get connected with my fellow classmates and interact with one another on EIR related topics or even other social topics. With Twitter, i am able to get in touch with my classmates and exchange thoughts and opinions on our related EIR topics. Even though we are unable to get in touch through email or through other sources, Twitter has helped me in learning EIR effectively and efficiently. It has enhanced my knowledge of EIR along the way through sharing of opinions and asking of question on the Twitter. It made learning more fun.

Comparing the Twitter experience with my blogging experience, blogging  has also helped me in getting more information and sharing of information as well as sharing thoughts on topics.  Blogging also provides much more information unlike Twitter as users can only tweet a limit of 140 characters at a time. However, Twitter's learning experience is much more effecient as we are able to Tweet and receive Tweet updates whenever and wherever we are. With Twitter's SMS client, we can tweet when we are in the toilet or even when we are eating etc. This helps to share information much more quickly. For example; i might ask a question and tweet " What are the pros and cons of social networking?". I might be able to get replies instantly and from there expand the information from different user views and different links to resources shared by other users.

On the other hand, the blogging experience is a much better way to share more vast information. More in detailed description on certain topic. Able to be linked to other blogs which might provide useful information for the research.

b. How can you use Twitter and Blogspot for research purposes ?

We can use Twitter for research purposes by Tweeting question regarding on our topic research. I can also search for topics in twitter based in my research topic and follow the user.Hence, i would be able to get updates on my related topics is any updates was added by the user. With Twitter, i could also join a group and discuss on my related search topic and get views from other users as well as other helpful resource links provided by them which could help me on my research.
And as for Blogspot, i could use it to retrieve personal/professional information by individuals who might be a major in the particular research topic i am doing and thus, i could get professional advice and tips and even relevant information on my topic to help me improve on my research.
